Ensuring Top Quality Care

Pine Grove Foundation Inc. is a registered charity whose mission is to provide financial resources required to enhance the quality of life of residents of the Pine Grove Nursing Home.

Board of Directors

Pine Grove Nursing Home is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our Board is responsible for ensuring the quality of care of the residents is maintained and that the assets of the organization are used in the way they were intended.

Pine Grove Foundation President

Philip Gilks serves as the President of the Pine Grove Foundation, leading efforts to enhance the quality of life for residents at Pine Grove Nursing Home through community support, fundraising, and strategic initiatives. With a strong background in leadership and nonprofit development, Philip is dedicated to fostering meaningful partnerships and securing resources that sustain and improve care programs, facility upgrades, and resident-focused initiatives.

Outside of his role with the foundation, Philip is actively involved in community initiatives that support senior care, recognizing the importance of collaboration in building a thriving, supportive environment for aging individuals.

Our Goals & History

Founded in 1984 by a group of community leaders determined to ensure a high standard of care at the then new facility, the Foundation’s volunteer board of directors works to supplement limited government funding with donations received through Campaigns, Events, Memorials, Special Bequests and Planned Giving.

Over the years, the Foundation has supported numerous programs and improvements to enable residents to live their final years in the utmost comfort.

Projects at Pine Grove

Projects in recent years include the Ray Dickinson Tranquility Garden, funding ceiling lifts for residential rooms, creating a palliative care room, refurbishing the residents’ kitchen and supplying specialized tables and chairs for the dining rooms.

The Activity department can also rely on support from the Foundation to enhance its overall programming.

The Pine Grove Foundation Board works closely with management to support their efforts to offer residents and their families the most comfortable and pleasant environment possible.

Festival of Lights

Now in its 15th year, the Festival of Lights has become a cherished holiday tradition at Pine Grove Nursing Home. Over 100 beautifully decorated trees light the way to our doors, thanks to the generosity of sponsors and the dedication of volunteers.

The event raises funds for essential items like new lifts, electric beds, and upgraded furniture that enhance the quality of life for our residents.

Visitors are invited to drive through or stroll the brightly lit grounds, soaking in the festive atmosphere.

Donations during the Festival of Lights directly support these vital improvements, making it a season of giving and joy for all.
